1. The Program

To the southeast of Lima, some kilometers after Lunahuaná, the traveler comes into the most rugged and the steepest boundaries of the province of Yauyos. Here, this area proudly shows a mosaic of pristine scenery where modernity has not reached yet.

At Yauyos, the traveler will see a series of very deep water basins and steep slopes, and valleys crossed by deep ravines, narrow gorges and plains.

Its richness is essentially based on its scenery. Therefore, Yauyos together with an important part of the province of Jauja, which belongs to the region of Junín, constitute the Nor-Yauyos-Cochas Landscape Reserve.

At Yauyos, you can find beautiful lakes scattered around the area, which are water mirrors that during a certain time of year turn into sources for human consumption, as well as for agricultural and livestock consumption.
